Landscaping with Colorado Native Plants Conference February 29, 2020
Over the last four years Denver Botanic Gardens, Butterfly Pavilion, CSU Extension, Front Range Wild Ones, High Plains Environmental Center, and Colorado Native Plant Society have collaborated to host a Landscaping with Colorado Native Plants Conference.
Each year this conference has sold out weeks in advance of the program and that is already happening with our 2020 event! Our past success has convinced us, more than ever, that there is growing interest in native plants and preserving Colorado’s unique biodiversity and character.
We are very pleased to announce that our 2020 conference, on Saturday, February 29th will be held at the Auraria Center, Denver, in order to accommodate a greater number of participants and reach a larger, State-wide audience.
The conference will feature leading experts in design, propagation, and gardening with native plants. Our keynote speaker will be Scott Hoffman Black, Executive Director, Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation, author of Insect Apocalypse? What Is Really Happening, Why it Matters and How Native Plants are a Vital Part of the Solution.
2020 Water-Wise ProSeries: The Value of Trees
Trees are a standard for our community’s quality of life. This year’s Water Smart Landscape ProSeries will review the importance of trees in Colorado Springs and their careful choice and management.
We’ll highlight the importance of education and care towards long-lasting tree growth, and how we are using the COS:150 Tree Challenge as a catalyst to build towards a more comprehensive tree program for Colorado Springs. You’ll also learn the latest BMP’s for urban tree success and how City Forestry supports our urban forest assets. CLICK HERE to register
