Denver Parks and Recreation’s Planning, Design and Construction Division is excited to announce the posting of an Associate Parks Project Manager position.
Under the direction of a Supervisor or Project Manager, the Associate Parks Project Manager performs some duties as a Parks Project Manager on assigned projects to complete plans, designs, and capital construction improvements. The primary functions of the position include performing parks landscape planning and design work, managing and coordinating landscape projects for parks, open spaces, trails, and parkways, while serving as a Project Manager for smaller and more moderately difficult projects.
Job Responsibilities of an Associate Parks Project Manager include:
Performing project management work on more moderately difficult municipal parks landscape design and implementation projects while managing the work of consultant designers and contractors for more moderately difficult parks projects.
Coordinating the activities of contractors engaged in the design and construction of landscape projects while maintaining project conformance with city and department standards and practices
Developing and refining design plans, specifications, and other requirements under the supervision of a Supervisor or Project Manager
Assisting with the development of long range and short-term planning, design, and construction initiatives, including modifications to policies, procedures, and standards related to parks and landscape architecture projects
Defining the scope of work for a project under the direction of a supervisor, reviewing project work plans developed by a design consultants or construction contractors, determining and monitor schedules, project milestones, and project budgets
Coordinating the work of consultants engaged in the design and/or construction of more moderately difficult capital improvement projects. Reviewing plans and specifications for compliance with standards and practices under the direction of a supervisor, performing on-site inspections during construction to determine work progress and conformance to established bid specifications/contracts, and providing technical support in solving problems
Facilitating stakeholder outreach and engagement, including with Park Operations, office of the City Forester, neighborhood groups, and other internal and external parties to successfully complete projects
Performs other related duties as assigned
